Hearing tests in Bonita Springs

Understanding your hearing starts with listening to you. At Shepherd Hearing Care, we take time to learn about your concerns, explain the testing, and help you understand your results and options.

What to expect:

Getting to Know You

Your visit starts with a few simple intake forms and a conversation about your hearing history, including the places and moments where hearing is hardest for you. We’ll also check your insurance benefits for you. Many patients are surprised to find their plan helps cover hearing aids, and we want to make sure you get every benefit you’re entitled to.

Ear examination & explaining the tests

Before your hearing test, we’ll take a look at your ear canals and eardrums. We’ll also walk you through each hearing and speech test, explaining what it involves and what it tells us, so you know what to expect and feel at ease from start to finish.

Testing your hearing and speech understanding

We test both how well you hear and how well you understand speech. Together, these results show us where you’re struggling and help us decide on the right next steps for you.

Understanding Your Results

Once testing is done, we’ll walk you through your results and explain any hearing loss we find and what it means for you. We’ll connect those findings to the concerns you shared and give you plenty of time to ask questions.

Honest Guidance on your next steps

If your results show normal hearing, Great!

If your results point to a medical issue that can possibly be reversed, we’ll refer you to the proper physician.

If hearing aids are the solution, we’ll show you how they work and go over your options together.

If we don’t think hearing aids would make a real difference for you, we’ll tell you so.

Our goal is for you to leave with a clear understanding of your hearing and why we recommend what we do.

Hearing Is a Team Effort

We encourage you to bring a spouse, family member, or friend to your appointment, ideally someone you talk with often.

Hearing loss affects more than just you. It shapes your conversations and relationships with the people around you. When a loved one joins you, we get a fuller picture of what everyday communication is like, and we can share simple ways they can help make conversations easier.
