Meet Wyatt Shepherd
Twenty years of experience. Spirit of Service.
I certainly did not grow up thinking that I was going to work in hearing care, but the desire to work in the medical field, an affinity for technology, a knack for troubleshooting, and an instilled spirit of service led to my calling.

Over the past 20 years, I have served as a hearing care practitioner, manager, and instructor while working for a major hearing aid manufacturer. I have had a front row seat for the technological transformation of our industry, giving me extensive experience applying that technology to individual patient needs.Â
Â
Whether in practice or volunteering domestically and abroad, my patients have given me 20 years’ worth of lessons as well. Those experiences have reinforced my belief in a spirit of service. Listening to patients, understanding their concerns, and taking time to explain their options are central to how I practice.

Why Shepherd Hearing Care?
Shepherd Hearing Care is a patient focused practice. Proper medical care should not be transactional.  Choosing hearing aids is only the beginning. Getting the most from them requires a partnership between the patient and the practitioner, supported by carefully selected technology, individual programming, education, and ongoing care.

At Shepherd Hearing Care, my goal is to help you understand your hearing, feel comfortable with your decisions, and have someone you can turn to when you need support.
Beyond the office.
I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, and raised in the Carolinas. My coastal roots took hold on the islands off Beaufort, South Carolina. Too small to play college football and not good enough to play collegiate soccer, I found myself on the Gamecock Rugby team for four years, and after graduation, continued to play men’s rugby all over the east coast well into my 30s. Thanks to my dad, the outdoors has, and continues to be, a big part of my life. When not at work, you’ll find me hiking, camping, fishing, paddle boarding, or just being with my family on the beach.
Â
My wife grew up in Naples, and we moved here to be closer to family.  When you visit our office there is a good chance you may see one of our 5 kids helping out and hopefully learning the work ethic my parents taught me. Â
